Starting a business or need help with an existing one?

The Santa Maria Enterprise Center is a new business incubator project located upstairs in the Town Center Mall. It is sponsored by PG&E, the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce, The Mall, and many other businesses and agencies.

The SMEC business incubator project provides an office environment and professional support for up to 5 businesses. The purpose of the program is to develop businesses to be successful enough to move into their own facilities and hire a local workforce. It is the kind of economic development that helps to make the Santa Maria Valley economically stronger.

If you are an entrepreneur and would like to be part of the program, please explore the above links or contact us for more information. If you're ready to go and would like to apply for an incubator slot, print and complete this application.

The Saga of Eggy

This is Eggy. Eggy is ready to go with a new business. Briefcase? Check. Laptop? Check. Cell phone, headset? Check, check.

But Eggy is working out of home, at the dining room table. Eggy needs an office, office equipment, Internet access, a conference room for meetings, and more. Needs advice, counseling, and mentoring. What to do?

Eggy came to the Santa Maria Enterprise, referred to as the SMEC, Santa Maria’s only business incubator.

Eggy’s business is now on track and moving forward. What’s your business doing?

Eggy's New Friends

Total-Shredding has  joined the SMEC. Serving customers from Santa Barbara to Paso Robles, Total-Shredding is locally-owned and utilizes the latest technology in shredding services. For more information on this exciting company, click here.

Mission Statement

The mission of the incubator project is to help businesses achieve financial success
by providing office space and mentoring so that they can contribute to the economy of the
Santa Maria Valley by creating jobs and/or generating income.
